Fine Arts

The Immersive Experience of Fine Arts in Tempe Education 

Tempe Elementary School District believe that including arts education in elementary equips students with essential skills and qualities that extend beyond the classroom and prepares them for a dynamic and interconnected world.

Performing Arts:

• General Music is offered for all students from kindergarten through 4th grade
• 5th graders take ownership of their arts education, choosing between Band, Orchestra or Choir as an elective

Visual Arts:

• All kindergarten through 5th grade students receive visual arts instruction from their classroom teacher – often integrated across the curriculum.
• All 2nd through 5th graders receive workshop instruction from a local teaching artist as part of the Studio Artist Program sponsored by the City of Tempe.
